The set top box is an appliance that accepts MPEG video transport streams and outputs the video through S-Video, composite or component and audio through base-band connectors or S/PDIF. The set top box is controlled through an IR remote control. The set top box supports the same functionality as in the InStream viewer. This includes decoding of MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264 and HD. AES decryption is also built into the set top box. It is configurable for HD or SD televisions and also for static or DHCP addressability. Set Top Box VF-STB is an InStream™ enabled IP Video appliance providing the full feature-rich capabilities of the Video Furnace InStream™ viewer to connect televisions to multicast and on-demand IP services while offering content protection with encryption and conditional access. With an Ethernet input and versatile video and audio outputs, the VF-STB provides a powerful means of delivering robust VF-Live™, VF-Stationmanager™, VFNow™ on-demand services, and even VF-SlideCaster™ to standard televisions - all through the simple InStream™ interface using the hand held IR remote control. Setup VF-STB is easily installed without technical expertise. After connecting it to the network, it provisions itself automatically and minutes later plays the selected multicast or unicast content to the connected television. Content Protection VF-STB is compatible with the Video Furnace encryption and conditional access systems to provide robust content protection options. After provisioning itself from the network it tunes only services to which the STB account is entitled. Feature Details
